VOTING INFORMATION

 

You may register and vote if you are:

·       A Michigan resident (at the time you register) and a resident of your city or township for at least 30 days (when you vote).

·       A United States citizen.

·       At least 18 years of age (when you vote).

·       Not currently serving a sentence in jail or prison.

 

Where to vote:

·       You can vote by absentee ballot for any reason.

·       You can vote in person at the polling place for your address (see VOTE411.org for polling place location)

·       If you register on election day, you will vote at your Clerk’s office.


Where to register to vote:

·       Online at Michigan Secretary of State https://mvic.sos.state.mi.us/RegisterVoter

·       At the clerk’s office in the community in which you live up to and including on Election Day,

·       Use a mail-in registration form up to 15 days before election

·       At Secretary of State offices, when getting/updating a driver’s license.


As a registered voter, you may:

·       Vote in National, State, County, Local, School, and Special Elections.

·       Hold elected and appointed public office

·       Sign legal petitions

·       Become a political party precinct delegate
