The State of Michigan has a well thought out, secure and reliable election process. You can learn more about this process in several ways:

• Watch the recording of the "Beyond the Ballot" presentation from March 18, 2026. This begins with a detailed review of the year-round election process and is followed with an "ask the clerk" panel discussion with Sarah Lutz, City Clerk of Traverse City and Sam Gedman, Deputy Chief County Clerk of Grand Traverse County answering audience questions.
• View or print a copy of the Journey of a Vote poster from the Michigan Secretary of State Office that demonstrates the checks and balances built into our elections.
• View or print an expanded version of the information on the Journey of a Vote poster (11 print pages).
• Watch short videos from the Secretary of State answering many of the common questions that voters have about our elections
• Review the information on the Secretary of State's Election Security website.
